TLScontact

IMPORTANT NEWS

Our cooperation with the German Embassy and Consulates in China has ended.

Since February 20, 2019 TLScontact is no longer accepting visa applications on behalf of the German missions in China.

Applicants whose applications are still processed by the German missions should contact the German missions regarding their application status.

The website and locations of the new service provider for visa applications are published through the website of the Embassy of Germany.

Entrance examination

Please submit all documents to substantiate your participation in an entrance examination at a German university and your subsequent return to China.

Please be aware that you can stay for a maximum of 90 days within a period of 180 days in Germany and the Schengen area. It is not possible to extend a Schengen visa or to change it to a residence permit. If you pass the entrance examination, you have to return to China and apply a national visa for study purpose at the respective German mission.

If you would like to attend preparatory courses ahead of the entrance examination (e.g. master class), please submit relevant documents (invitation letter, proof of accommodation). If you would like to travel for tourism purposes after your entrance examination, please submit relevant documents (travel itinerary, flight booking, proof of accommodation).

Please note: When applying for a short-term Schengen visa, you must give a plausible explanation of your intention to return after completing the entrance examination. In particular, after the planned return from Germany, there must be sufficient time to apply for a national visa for study purposes. If the return cannot be demonstrated plausibly, the grant of a Schengen visa is not possible. You should then apply directly for a national visa for study purposes.
